The Purpose of Life

Yeah, I think Eleanor Roosevelt got it exactly right.
Again, It’s Free Time genaroestores: The Monk Gone Swimming I didn’t do anything today. I needed to take a complete rest day because I was not feeling well, and to top it all, I have so many things to do in my school projects. Having a day without doing anything will make me relieve my stress and most importantly, I Had a chance to put my life together again. At the middle of the day, I decided to go swimming in the hotel’s pool. It was relaxing and very refreshing. I had a very peaceful day.

Anticipating Angkor Wat It’s early in the morning before our trip to the Angkor Wat Temple complex, which includes scores of temples worshiping Hindu gods and the Buddha constructed during the Angkorian Empire, which lasted from about the mid-ninth century to the late 15th century.  The major one of these is Angkor Wat itself, which is the largest religious structure in the world.  Many consider it an Eighth Wonder of the World.   As I’m waking up, I think about all the preparation that I’ve done - reading two books on the subject, viewing as many pictures as possible, daydreaming about being there - and I wonder if it will be sufficient to prepare me for the experience of being there.  This is the leg of our trip that I’ve been most excited about.  Today is the day I’ve been waiting for.  I am so blessed to be able to come here and experience this place.  No doubt, there will be much to share later on about this experience.  I’m committed to being there and being present today just as much as learning about the place and documenting my experience of it.

Naadam wrestler II (by Phil & Delph)

Mongolia’s largest and most famous festival, Naadam, has been celebrated all over the country for more than 1000 years (July 11th - 13th). It is based around competitions in archery, horse-riding and wrestling which are considered to be the “three manly sports” (although women can take part too!). More info and travel details for Naadam…

Thanks for sharing this!  In the Seoul Incheon Airport, I met a woman from France and her husband who were headed to this festival in Mongolia.  I didn’t know what the festival was about but we sat next to one another and spoke French while painting souvenirs at the remarkable Korean Cultural Center within the airport.
